1917 – Minnie Jewett dies

Minnie Jewett, 1st wife of Asa C. Jewett died November 15th, 1917.

The Boston Globe of the same day carried its own notice: “Mrs Minnie B. Jewett, wife of Asa P. Jewett, died yesterday at her home on Chesley road, Newton Center. She was 39 years old. Funeral services will be held there tomorrow.” Two details as printed are worth recording: the Globe gives her age as 39, and misprints her husband’s middle initial as “Asa P. Jewett” — he is Asa C. everywhere else in the record. (Boston Globe, November 16, 1917.)
